Bolt Torque Information
The bolts tension specs used in the twincam engines are generally the same as the ones used for the SOHC engine. However, there may be some exceptions. I have listed the SOHC G161Z and G180Z specs from genuine Isuzu engine manuals, also an image showing bolt diameters, thread pitch and metal the bol...

Re: Avast! blocking twincam...
Not sure why your AV is doing that Pete... Not being familiar with your AV software I can't make suggestions on how to remove the block. Perhaps contact their help service and see if they have an answer.

Re: G161W-G180W-G200W bearing sets (including cam bearings)
Time to resurrect this thread again, another run of these FM cam bearings has been sourced. Anyone wishing to purchase sets of cam bearings (for the two true cams) please make a note in this thread. The dummy camshaft that is located in the block uses a different set of bearings which we also think ...

Re: g200w turbocharged?
G180W and G200W twincams are going to be quite difficult to find. This info is only about The SOHC engines, not DOHC engines . Turbocharging a GZ engine can be done... better value than the twin DCOE setup. US market G180Z and G200Z are similar to the ones we have here in Australia. Iron block, allo...

Pete, ITB are a huge step up in fuel/air delivery. Like going from a simple single carb to feed four cylinders to two DCOE/IDA feeding a cylinder per barrel.

Re: ITB's
Have to admit, if I were ever going to (further) upgrade a twincam engine that kit (or one similar) is probably the ideal starting point. For now I'm keen to see just how much benefit and extra I can get from the Delco upgrade I have done. It has to improve over the 'hard wired' ignition curve and p...

Hot Rod Manual (Department of Infrastructure & Transport)
This is the reference manual covering vehicle modification on the NATIONAL level. Use it as a base guideline in conjunction with local state or territory regulations for your area. Not all states have adopted the manual and some states have adopted it but have chosen to enforce stricter limits for s...

Re: Oil cooler ?
Without having a pump in front of me to investigate more thoroughly, I'd say the spring loaded ball would most likely be a pressure relief vent to limit maximum oil pressure preventing over pressurising the system. Any line designed to serve as an oil cooler supply would need some sort of restrictio...

Thanks for that. I'm still keen to source a pair of the genuine mount brackets to reproduce replicas from. If anyone has some loose ones doing nothing that they can sell or lend it would be appreciated.

UPDATE: I have now activated a different method of registration approval where the new user has to answer a question. This has so far stopped any automated registrations from getting through. Message me with details if you spot any dubious posts from new account holders.

Re: G180W engine brackets
Well I still don't have a pair these Gemini twincam engine mount brackets or even a loan or a detailed measure/photo/sketch to allow me to reproduce them as per the originals. Has anyone got a spare set off an engine that whey would like to sell or lend so I can copy them?

Re: Twincam wiring
We (IZU069 & myself) have been discussing options for the right injectors. I have found that the low impedance original injectors will run but they don't run well straight 'out of the box' using the current DelcoHacking tune data for the G200W. I think it would be logical to swap to the same inj...

Re: G161W-G180W-G200W bearing sets (including cam bearings)
Reason is the twin cam g series was never an engine released in Australia and parts supply are limited. Cam bearings are one of a number of parts not available here. The C172L bearings are simply not available in Australia. The Federal Mogul bearings shown in the photos have been imported. They were...

Re: g180w inlet valve size?
Hi Danny. I found that same gasket set at MD Spares in Moorabbin but it's $50 cheaper. Postage would be about the same, but if they were mean enough to stack on the price to value add, I'm sure IZU069 may be able to pick it up for you on one of his southerly fly by trips if you had paid them for it ...

Re: g180w inlet valve size?
The bearings are still sitting on my shelf. Maybe Andy has tried out his set? I'm sure he'll let us know if he has. The timing chain marks should be documented. Maybe pull a timing cover off one of your shed bound engines and dab some parts marking yellow ink on the links where they line up with the...

Re: g180w inlet valve size?
The cam bearings and the oil pan gasket are the parts we have found difficult to source. One of the forum members found a few sets of what we think are the right bearings, still to be checked and verified but they look damn close! If they are the right ones then we know what to look for in future. W...
