Not Interchangable
The "Z" oil pump is a gear type driven from the crank at the front of the motor and hangs down into the sump, mounted under the front cover. The "W" oil pump is a 'tri-chord' rotor that mounts into a different place on the outside of the motor. The only known part the same for th...

Off-Line
Been "off-line" for a while setting up my business - 18hr days don't leave much time for anything else. I have dumped three Piazzas just to clear the decks and make room for work that pays. Sold one G200W motor to a farmer who wantd to make a compressor out of it - kept the ignitor. Still ...

OOPS!
Sorry about not logging in - sometimes things on the computers elude me and I run out of time to find out what I did wrong! Rang an Auto Dismantler today (GM specialist) and asked about a G200W Ignitor: "$NZ150 - have only one left" If that sounds too much just let me know your best offer ...

Alloy Flywheels
The "Fidanza" alloy flywheels are for sale BTW. They have a hardened steel (replacable!) insert on the clutch friction surface, a ring gear fitted and come with new clutch cover bolts. My Piazzas are autos and I have abandoned ideas of converting to manual gearbox - can't find any good one...

Dissy Pics
Still trying to upload a pic - click the wrong thing and it all disapears. Five attempts so far and hours down the drain! Need a STEP by STEP instruction somewhere - I read the FAQ and it told me about the CTRL C bit but Ihad to ask the neighbour about the CTRL V bit to "paste" it. Then th...

RE: G200W Ignitors
They are complete units that look just like distibutors. Never seen a G180W - only ever seen one Gemini over here - driving past so I have no idea what a Gemini one looks like. I will be at my workshop tomorrow trying to find some Opel parts a local wants. Will try to load up some pics this week end...

Whole Thing ....
I have three complete G200W (DOHC) "ignitors" I guess you can call them distributors ... they stickout of the cam cover at right angles to the motor and have a distibutor cap and leads on them. Also have complete twin cam motors - several of them out of early 1980's Piazzas. PM or e-Mail m...

Lotus?
The DOHC cylinder head is either a Lotus design ... or a good copy of a Lotus Cortina one. Differences in head bolt spacing and other dimensions but the basic layout and design are too similar to be co-incidental. Besides which GM was suposed to "own" Lotus in the time frame of the head's ...
