Re: Twincam wiring
Corrections to the above. The 117 G161W EFI uses a JFUX4 dizzy and Bosch D-jetronic EFI. After figuring that out for myself I found that info is available in webland. (Not that webland is accurate - I still can't believe the errors on "Isuzu Engine" sites (wiki?).) Still not sure if this w...

Re: Twincam wiring
I hate awaking old threads, but there is a G161W EFI. However whether you call factory standard or not is conjecture, not that it effects anyone because only one remains. GMH imported 3 G161W 117s for evaluation back in the 1970s. I have a pic of one I parked on Hoddle St Melbourne in the late 1970s...

Sorry about the Post approval delay. Aren't there any other mods on this site? I'm still not getting email notifications and I must have missed this new post . Luckily I did a manual View your posts ... Any link to this 2-1 exhaust mod, went for a search but couldn't find anything? Yes, me. For some...

Damn, there I go again! I thought you were the OP. Stupid me (as most know). Sorry, for some reason I must have you (lowkey) on my mind - maybe something to do with PMs LOL. terryo , I suggest take the offer. Two should be cheaper than one, and if between you you find a good designer... I looked for...

Re: G180 twin cam parts wanted
Thanks. But I already have the best - ie, the OEM G200W manifold which fits all my vehicles.
I do have a 10mm laser cut exhaust flange that may be uncommitted.

Re: Avast! blocking twincam...
Ah yes, it shook my bootie. Ever tried convincing a shipload of sailors that AC-DC are Australian? PS (~04:30 Zulu; I think we have a 1 hour disparity). I just ordered some layshaft/dummycam bearings - you know, the ones that don't exist (LOL). Flakes came to mind (again!) recently... those sucker m...

Re: G180 twin cam parts wanted
The G200W gaskets should be the same. The larger bore shouldn't matter much (whereas smaller bore headgaskets for larger bores DOES matter!). All perishables should be available - eg, bearings (mains, bigends, cams, layshaft) & gaskets (I suggest MD Spares' E3B-G295 {KP G295VNA}). For the G200W,...

Re: Lowkey's G200W
Oh no - not a bluddy Pertronix points replacement kit? I've been caning them for years - even before the RG dizzy... way before. If you go for the torque build I wouldn't worry too much about verniers etc, the st'd timing marks should do. Sure, later you might get into that but I reckon you'll be ve...

Re: Lowkey's G200W
In keeping with low down torque I'd keep the 4:2:1. 4:1 is for high RPM and for that I'd suggest another engine - maybe a Mitsubishi 4G63(?) but out of a Hyundai - add $1k cams ex-USA ($2k in Aus - not that I know what the cams are) which apparently boosts it to 500HP. Of course if you want to stick...

Re: Lowkey's G200W
Good info. I've been using reduction starters for years but of course I have Belletts, Florians & Wasps with the olde G161-OHV engine (else G200Ws) with their leftside startermotors and those vehicles don't have the same clearance problems as Geminis. Apart from only drawing about 140A instead o...

Nor does anyone else. (check that often...)
I should have deleted else appended that I can now access this site via windoze.
I don't know what the problem was but my solution worked - leave it until it fixes itself.

Re: water pump
Is yours rebuildable? Leaks & bearings can be replaced; it's only impeller damage or body damage/corrosion that is a big problem. I have a few NOS but may want them for some G200W rebuilds I'm doing, but then the original pumps may become available... I think some of the Jap SOHCs had similar pu...

The Holdens weren't equivalent once compared to removed layshaft/dumy-cam bearings.

Re: G161W-G180W-G200W bearing sets (including cam bearings)
A certain "OHV" site reckoned the dummy cam bearings can't be sourced though I've heard that before... (and they could).
I have some "Holden" equivalents though I'm get to confirm they are the same - though they have a single split - and then find out what they are out of.

Ooops my bad. Not the first time I've confused Darrens with Darryls though I interchange John & David more often! My advice for our cars & sparts has always been get things whilst you can - not when you need it. Though I then have to put up with whinging by those that didn't, I've had the pl...

Yes... well they are the Federal Moguls which apparently are listed for GWs.
That looks like GemWRC aka Darryl who recently posted on another Isuzu website. I know that orders for SEVERAL sets have been placed.

And yet another PS... Starter motor - a reduction starter motor - eg from a 4ZE1 Rodeo or Jackaroo. But beware; RHS starters mount with their solenoids or motors "horizontally leftwards" when moved to the LHS of the engine. That may hit the body (Geminis come to mind) or the exhaust may be...

PS - a Piazza G200W!! I-TEC; locked optical dizzy with 1989 Jackaroo 4ZE1 optical module (not the 4ZE1 Rodeo!); later ratcheted cam chain tensioner; and Piazza "over the top" inlets instead of 117 G200W "out right & forward" that no Gemeni or Bellettian wants. Technically the...

Apologies for Reply approval delays. (I got no notifications and I just notified Poida that the site had been down for a few days...!) FYI - I might have some NOS DOHC water pumps. Some were slightly different (for a LUV or KB ute or similar - a slight different in front flange thickness as I recall).

Re: Engine for sale on eBay - what is it out of?
BTW - as I recall it sold to the first & only bid at $500.
IMO that's not bad compared to the $1500 (from memory) an overseas buyer bought an IMO lesser G161W (tho it may have been a 117 G161W) with some bits or peripherals missing (a few years ago).

Re port grinds, yeah, they are big enough and Guru told me they don't need much. I got the impression it wasn't much more than a polish. (" A slight grind was the quote. This is the Guru that explained the "standard" 230HP 400Nm G200W build; namely (then) twin DCOE45s with F2 emulsion...

In my experience, when people " drove it .... for the first time... " and then follow with " ... resulting in this " AND post a vid, it is usually the foreplay for the next post " What do you think it is? ". Not that many do post such failures, but on some forums first ...
