Re: twin cam DCOE/DHLA manifolds

no good measuring my intake manifold as it has been fairly ported

on a DOHC bigger is better, 45mm sideys were the preferred choice for most in the know

Re: Speedway TD Coupe

get rid of the intake, unless u wanna belt the shock tower, change the oil filter mount then go for it!

i would love to drive a 1600 dohc, i am very familar with how the 180 and 200's go, but i reckon the 1600 would b a little screamer!

ps i got lots of dohc spares if u need help

no vehicle i have ever heard of has a locker, sure u can get some 4wds from factory that have lockers, but these are a part time switchable item

no passenger car maker would do it, even more so with the beetle as the transaxles were fragile at best in the early days

these motors were never sold new in OZ so parts are harder to get

best thing to do is just find a s/hand one, use it then reco it when needed, as most of the parts are the same as sohc

you most probably will need a rear brake upgrade to the same specs as the car the dohc came out of

the motor will bolt in no worries without mods

so basically it should be pretty easy
