Supercharger!

Ok so I've been planning to supercharge my G180W. It's hardly a pressing issue, I'm more worried about making it run first... But planning can't hurt. I was told a supercharger from an MR-2 would be suitable. I'm looking at running 8-10psi of boost. I don't know the name of the MR2 supercharger, but I get the impression I'm looking at it.

Would it be suitable? Would it fit? And, more to the point, is this it, and is this a good deal?

4 up from the bottom, although they may edit the page.

"Toyota 1GGZE Superchargers. $295 each"

For more info (not immensely relevant albeit) I found this site, look about half way down in the "Multi Valves" section.

The supercharger off the 4AGZE is the SC12, while the one off the 1GGZE is the SC14. Both are positive displacement, the SC12 displacing 1.2L of air, the SC14 1.4L. Both are extreemly inefficient, crude, hot running and not worth the hassle. A turbo setup is a better option. BUT...

If you MUST go for a charger, go the Eaton M90 as per Buick 3800 V6 [aka VT Commodore]. They can be had for about 400-600 on the private market, and are good for about 14psi - on a 3.8! They are a much more efficient charger, so id be looking at using one of these.

Now, ive been thinking about this abit lately as ive been looking at a few photos of setups. I dont see why you couldnt adapt the bottom of the charger onto the G200 DOHC inlet runners, in a form of draw through setup with the throttlebody mounted in the intake piping. Makes for less fucking around with brackets, only drama is making a belt tensioner and the possible pulley alignment/charger snout length problem. Oh, and bonnet clearance.

The only reason I'm avoiding going turbo is due to the insane costs for exhaust headers to be made, and stuff like BOV, intercooler, extra oil load (seperate oil system maybe?)... Etc.

That charger sounds sweet, are they hard to find?

They go for about 400-600 second hand, pretty common and easy to come by. Yella Terra sells the same charger brand new for about 1500 i think.

Damn, guess I'll start looking around then...

Which do you think would best suit a drift setup on the G180W? Supercharger, or Turbo?
