G161W in a Bellett GTR - a few pics
Might not be statistics but I figured it belonged here, because you don't see or hear of these things every day. Feel free to move!
This thing was for sale on a Japanese website for 950,000 yen (about AU$9,900)
Twincam needs: surge tank, EFI lines, TPS, recored radiator, hoses, assemble the ECU (50% done).

nice find archangel62, but its not a real GT-R.
thats an 1800GT, that originally had 1 of those SOHC engines that have the rocker gear mount in the rocker cover, and the cover has a smaller inspection plate on the side.
that car has had the twin cam fitted by someone, and its not a real good job of it anyway.
the paint job is totally wrong on that grey one.
a real GT-R looks like this, and was available in white as well.
they had the small 'bumperettes' like the grey one, but also had fog lights on a special bar, like this.
*just noticed that this GT-R has the 'GT' badge and the 'DOHC' badge on the wrong way around.
the 'DOHC' should be on the drivers side, and the 'GT' on the passenger side*
the tailights on the grey one are the give away, those big square jobbies were only on the late 1800 SOHC GT's.
GT-R's had these long skinny ones.
and heres a real GT-R engine bay.
oh, and there was only 1069 GT-R's built, and these days will set u back about 1.8 million yen ($18,000 A).
hope this help, and i'll see if i can find some more info on them.
ive got some... somewhere!
BTW, we never got GT-R's here, or 1800GT's for that matter.
We got the normal 1600GT with the pushrod G161 engine.
I'm actually restoing 1 as we speak.

Yes all - stop PMing me! Archangel62's pic is a GT-R.
Yes - AFAIK a few did come with square taillights and non-orange and non-white paint jobs.
And definitely - GT-R's were random off the production line. (AFAIK hence the GT 1800 but with G161W.)
Hence all GTRs have chassis number PR91. If you see a chassis number with "PR-91W", then I can guarantee that it is a fake!
And yes (GemC??), I'd like the GTX diff with cooler too. If the magnet doesn't stick to the quarters, I want it (I'm collecting historical bog samples). But if the engine has metal sump (and separate manifolds), it's 117, not GTX.

GTRs had the PR91W body number prefix. That is fact. They are on sale at eagle spares in Japan. Replica PR91 bodies are being used. The real ones are nearly double the price of the fakes. This has been verified by a friend that has just arrived back and went to many dealers including Eagle.
"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
He was in Eagle's workshops last week and they have virtually a production line making replicas. Those are priced around $17k the only PR91W they have for sale is around $40K and the Left Hand Drive with under 400 kilometres on clock is near $80k. It was a special build that was to go to Scandinavia but never sent.
Eagle is making a killing with them. Pity we do not have some GT Type Rs over here. Apart from the replica in Sydney. Which was pointed out by our visitors in Corowa at the last nationals held there. They pointed out that the chassis number was incorrect.
Eagle also have some very good hatchbacks at around $4k

I'm talking about ORIGINAL GT-Rs, not remakes.
The PR91W was never a chassis number except in fakes.
Get a photo of an original, or find Isuzu stuff to support it, or Toski, Mr Aoki etc).
Or who were the visitors? Just because they misunderstood documentation or read it on the web doesn't make it fact. If it were, then Isuzu diesel gearboxes would have LHS starters.
I have Isuzu documentation (eg, timelines) that show the PR91W "model" number, but that is not the chassis number. I too once thought so.
I wonder if Isuzu will use PR91R for the re-release....?

Hey Peter69,
Civilization! The freedom!
You should join Bellett.Net and piss them off there too. If theyll take me...!!
Why all the misreading? Isn't a remake a fake?
Or do they think authoritys would allow duplicate chassis numbers?
Some just have no idea.
Lucky they arent law inforcers eh!
And wheres my gtr lsd?
PonceBoy.

Elky - did you end up with it/them?
Poncy - very funny. (1) - & spend hours typing? (2) yes no yes (3) LOL! Tell them! (4) kuneno, see above.
But I suspect you're worried with both the Feds & Vics after you. Or will it be Feds in both cases?
Which civvy or smoke have you hit?
PM me if you want to stir. This is a respectable forum!

Thanx Man. Like I said, Dody is not the messiah.
Reposting will only stir. I know it isn't illegal (not like Contemp eh!), but he doesn't cop the crap.
And thanks for the 91W confirmation, but that was sorted above - I only ever referred to the original GT-Rs.
And no to the latest model screens - I only have the first 2 (GT & Sedans).

Hey Elky,
I long dead thread (I suspect the others have long gone; hanging their heads in shame LOL! Except for archangel of course!), but I wonder if you had difficulty finding Gemini LSDs?
I have posted elsewhere (probably other forums; maybe OzFem) about a mate that brought in several units years ago only to get stuck with 4 or 5 because the orderers couldn't pay.
As I recall, they were drum brake units. There were also disc brake units but these were not available with LSD.
