I was talking to a guy that had a few twin cams and used to rally them. he said he had one with a 2.6 rodeo crank in it with the journals machined down.
he had twin 48mm webers and was making 250hp, i dont know if this was at the wheels or crank but it's pretty impressive. the only problem was that he kept spinning main bearings so was in the process of gettinf 4 bolt mains made for it.
anyone heard of this or is he full of shit.

Id say his pulling his cock. Pretty sure the journal spacing on the 4Z series is completely different, plus youd need custom rods etc etc. Load of crap.
I have heard of using 2T or 3T toyota pistons for higher compression though. If Mikey [Tassie ZZ/Z well Tassie now coz the f***head sold HIS CAR] ever comes on he can explain more.
As for spinning bearings and needing 4bolt mains, ROFL. Darrens G161z makes 350RWKW and its using 2bolt mains.
Oh, and it ONLY revs to 10500rpm @ over 2bar of boost.
