Well it started out as my first car ever a TF with a G200W and engineered that I bought when I was 16 for $3000 registered.
It was a great first car, Lots of fun flogging my mates in there commodores n what not.
But I had problem after problem and not knowing these engines back then I had alot of trouble get info/repairs.
Most of them I ended up sorting until they day it started misfiring like a bitch,
At this stage I wasnt a Auto Electrician just a apprentice mechanic so EFI misfires werent exactly my thing then, So I got the shits pulled the twin-cam out and chucked it on the engine stand in my garage and started pulling it down.
Which Im glad I did as the bottom end was not very happy at all.
At that point I found a mechanic (true blue V8 man ) Who would take on the job of rebuilding my DOHC for me.
It has been in his workshop for at least 10months it is all complete bar the fact we are pondering whether to take the head back off and have a new timing chain made.. mmm well see.
The engine is fully rebuilt to standard specs,
New bearings throughout, New rings, Old pistons.
The head has had the go through valve regrind, slight port polish and match porting to the I-TEC plenum - NEW CAM BEARINGS
Modifications are as follows,
The I-TEC plenum has been modified to use the 3.8 Commodore throttle body.
Custom sump.
Camira Distributor adapted to suit.
4-2-1 extractors also have a 4-1 into set but not going to use these.
Custom fuel rail.
Thats about all I can think of for now.
Still waiting on my T28 turbo and then ATG23Q off OzGem is going to make a flange to suit.
Oh and its going into my 75' TX Coupe which is hopefully getting sprayed in April.

Nice engine! How much does the mechanic charge to rebuild it with you? Did you have much problem finding parts? What's the std computer like?
Do you have any quatre mile times/etc? How easily did it beat commondores?

Twincam needs: surge tank, EFI lines, TPS, recored radiator, hoses, assemble the ECU (50% done).
Gem,
Yea I got some pics of the dizzy!
Still havent used it yet mate.
Above setup I purchased off gem btw.
My Old dizzy still got it though,
Also I got a few sets of cam bearings made up by my machinist so got a few sets to sell.
Archangel62,
I supplied all the parts so basically about 8hours labour...
I never ran the std. ECU always had a modified Delco system.
Nah not quarter mile times mate...
